Ray Racing, the powerful graphics option available on PC (for those that have RTX GPUs) alongside PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, is all the rage these days. In essence, lighting in games is much more realistic and makes for some incredible scenes. But does Diablo 4, one of the most-anticipated games of the decade, support Ray Tracing?
This article explains if Diablo 4 has a Ray Tracing option for systems that support the feature and what you need to know about Blizzard's future plans.
Update on 17 July 2023: We've updated this article with the latest Diablo 4 Ray Tracing support details.
Diablo 4 Ray Tracing on PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X/S?
At launch on 6 June 2023, or 2 June for those with Early Access, Diablo 4 will NOT feature Ray Tracing support.
In an official blog post about Diablo 4's Open Beta, under the PC system requirements section, Blizzard explains:
During both the Open Beta and at launch, Diablo IV will not support ray tracing, but this is a feature we plan to add sometime after launch.

When Will Ray Tracing Come to Diablo 4?
Blizzard does have plans to add Ray Tracing to Diablo 4 in the future. The developers didn't mention the platforms Ray Tracing would be available on. If we had to take a guess, it would be all platforms that support Ray Tracing, aka the Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Maybe not the Xbox Series S, but we will have to wait and see.
At the time of writing, there is no indication when Diablo 4 will receive Ray Tracing support. We will endeavor to update this section once the details have officially been announced.
While some might be disappointed that Ray Tracing is not in Diablo 4 at launch, the game already does look fantastic. Just take a gander at the World of Sanctuary video below to see the beautiful, dark, and moody graphics in action.
So there you have it; Diablo 4 does not have Ray Tracing support on any platform at launch. The game will get this graphics option in the future, and we will update you as soon as an official announcement is made.
