Blitzcranks Best Skins in League of Legends (All Ranked) FandomSpot

Posted by Patria Henriques on Sunday, July 7, 2024

Blitzcrank has always been an iconic champion. One hook can win even the most difficult of games.

But it’s disappointing that a champion so impactful and recognizable is still rolling around the Rift with PS2 graphics.

So I figure now’s a great time to look at the rest of his catalogue and see what we’re dealing with.

Whether you’re looking for ideas yourself, or whether you’re primed & ready to disagree, we’ve got you covered.

Here’s my ranking for the best Blitzcrank skins in League of Legends, based on each skin’s overall appeal as well as price.

12. Rusty Blitzcrank

Released: November 20th, 2009
Price: 520 RP

Rusty Blitzcrank is just notoriously bad. In fact, even calling it a skin seems offensive towards other League skins.

I would call it a chroma, but that would be too harsh towards chromas.

This entire skin just boils down to lowering the saturation of the base model.

I will admit that the splash art is really good – and I do prefer this skin to the base model. But there’s no way in hell I’m paying out of pocket for it.

But there is potential with the idea. And if Blitzcrank ever gets a visual update, this could become quite good.

But until then it’ll sit in last place, gathering all of the rust.

11. Goalkeeper Blitzcrank

Released: June 24th, 2010
Price: 520 RP

Okay, at least this is a proper skin.

However, it’s not a particularly good one. All it really does is throw a football jersey on top of the base model.

Okay, his hands are also changed, and he is wearing some sick kicks. But that still feels pretty minor to me.

If you were going for a roleplay comp, then this skin could be quite useful. But I just don’t see it standing on its own in a normal game.

Then again, it is pretty hilarious to think that his W is just for pretend. So it gets bonus points in my head.

10. iBlitzcrank

Released: March 1st, 2013
Price: 1350 RP

Okay, I know I might lose a few of you with this ranking but hear me out.

There is no doubt that this was one of the best Blitzcrank skins back in the day. But I just don’t think it stacks up anymore.

The model looks clunkier compared to the newer skins. And that 1350 RP price tag is only getting you a few new particle effects.

I definitely like the little jetpack on his W here. And his Q is also very well made.

But it doesn’t feel all that futuristic anymore.

Maybe I got spoiled by all the bells and whistles of the newer releases. Either way, for now iBlitzcrank lands right here (for now).

9. Riot Blitzcrank

Released: October 21st, 2013
Price: 975 RP

Riot Blitzcrank is just pretty cool all-around.

The character model looks like a proper post-apocalyptic police robot hunting down the remnants of humankind, and some of the new animations really add to that feeling.

I also love that you have a little megaphone on your shoulder. And the goofiness of his face somehow makes him look even more intimidating.

But most of all, I love the sirens.

The head siren that sounds off when you use your W, and the shoulder sirens that sound off when you use your E, both just really help the skin feel unique and memorable.

8. Boom Boom Blitzcrank

Released: August 29th, 2010
Price: 520 RP

Even though this is just a simple character model redesign with no new animations or particles, it’s pretty iconic.

The giant punching gloves make his Qs seem even more important than they already were. And the rest of the model is just as good.

And it’s the little details that stand out here. Like the championship belt around his hips or the “black eye” he’s sporting, both really do wonders for the overall appeal.

And considering this is among the cheapest skins in the whole game, why not give it a look?

7. Victorious Blitzcrank

Released: November 16th, 2021
Price: Ranked Reward

I have to say that Victorious Blitzcrank might just be the most unique Victorious skin I’ve seen.

But “unique” does not necessarily mean good.

This skin doesn’t look like the usual fancy-pants yellow and blue, but rather like a Blitzcrank visual update.

Your character model has actual detail here, and leans more heavily into the Arcane aesthetic. All while your backing animation has more animations than your entire kit.

With this skin, your grab arm is now a suction cup thing, and you also have monkey-like feet for some reason.

When it comes to your abilities, there isn’t much to say, other than your passive shield is a lot better now, and your ult sound effect is a bit worse… it kind of sounds… “wet”.

Overall, this honestly should just be Blitzcrank’s base skin.

But grinding all season to get this doesn’t really seem worth it.

6. Lancer Paragon/Rogue Blitzcrank

Released: November 16th, 2017
Price: 1350 RP

I decided to group these two together since they’re basically the same thing.

Okay, except for the fact that Rogue has a better backing animation where he channels his inner Gurren Lagann.

That being said, I do prefer the Paragon skin overall, as it has such strong early 2000s mech craze vibes that my nostalgia nets it a lot of brownie points.

I absolutely adore the character model design for both of these. And the animations aren’t shabby either.

I especially like how your W not only turns on the jetpack, but also has your drill hand rotate menacingly.

Both skins are very decent additions to Blitzcrank’s library. And either of these could have honestly served as Blitzcrank’s base skin without any major issues.

However, they’re missing some of the pizazz that many upcoming skins are rocking.

5. Piltover Customs Blitzcrank

Released: March 7th, 2011
Price: 1350 RP

It’s honestly difficult to describe what makes this skin so great without sounding like a child, but here goes.

The fact that you make car noises while using your W makes every game infinitely more fun.

I already make the sounds in my head, so the fact that this skin does it for me just makes it top tier in my books.

Plus, the visual particles are pretty cool as well! However it’s also worth pointing out that you’re paying a premium cost for a decent base model change and a few new particles.

So it was bound to hit the ceiling at some point on this list.

4. Definitely Not Blitzcrank

Released: October 19th, 2011
Price: 975 RP

This is another example of me being a child, but other Blitzcrank players seem to love it just as much, so I feel less guilty.

Even though it is just a simple character model change (and not even a big one at that) I think it does so much for the character.

Just the thought that you’re this giant heap of metal pretending to be a normal dude by putting on a suit and a fake moustache makes me chuckle.

Blitzcrank is a goofy dude already.

And this skin really puts a spotlight on that fact, which makes it brilliant despite being so simplistic.

3. Witch’s Brew Blitzcrank

Released: October 24th, 2019
Price: 1350 RP

As far as Halloween skins are concerned, this one is pretty up there.

I mean just look at that design – the dude looks horrifying!

The floating eye is just ominous as hell, and the sound design is impeccable here. Your E is a literal scream!

You also have to appreciate how your hook hand is a claw, for that added bit of visual clarity. The backing animation also fits the theme pretty well, the particles are all properly spooky, and the splash art is just amazing.

The only complaint I do have is that the voice filter doesn’t match up perfectly with what I would imagine this monstrosity to sound like – but that’s just a minor nitpick.

2. Battle Boss Blitzcrank

Released: August 19th, 2015
Price: 1350 RP

You can really tell that the Riot design team loved arcade games, because this skin line never fails to blow me away.

There are just so many cool little particles and sound effects that’ll give you that nostalgic punch from this skin – It’d be crazy to even try to count them all here.

I will say that my favorite choice design-wise is the death animation, but the backing animation is a close second.

There’s honestly nothing bad I can even say about this skin. It nailed each category perfectly.

The only reason it’s not at number one is because Riot somehow managed to make an even flashier skin, while still paying attention to all the little details that make this one so great.

1. Space Groove Blitz & Crank

Released: April 1st, 2021
Price: 1820 RP

Although I always feel like it’s a cop out to put one of the newest & most expensive skin at number one, Space Groove Blitz & Crank is too amazing to downplay out of principle.

Where do we even begin with this skin?

You’re a funky space robot controlled by kittens. That alone is quite the sales pitch.

Your ability animations are very flashy and funky, somewhat comparable to Battle Boss in my opinion, and your emotes are just on a whole different level.

Having the joke emote be another dance party was already pretty sick. But the taunt emote is truly a masterpiece: you get told that your vibes are terrible, and then a kitten points and dances at you.

That is definitely the most taunting thing I have seen in this entire game. And I want to abuse it forever.

Plus you can now always blame your arm kitten for missing the hook!

This skin just has way too much to offer to fall lower in this ranking. And if you don’t believe me, go and have a look for yourself.
