BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Part of Gov Little’s phase 1 of reopening, St. Mark's is resuming its services this weekend. They are only allowing people with tickets to enter and will space ticketed attendees six ft. away from each other.
The services began this Saturday and continued on Sunday.
“It went really great. It’s been really great seeing people. For the last 5 weeks we haven’t had a congregation," Father Ben Uhlenkott of St. Mark's Catholic Church said. "It was fantastic, I think the process went well. There was a bit of a rush 5 minutes before the service.”
St. Mark’s Catholic Church usually holds up to 1,200 people on a typical Sunday, but only allowed 164 attendees this weekend.
Those who attended followed social distancing protocol and Father Uhlenkott said it could not have gone better.
“I loved it, people were engaged," Father Uhlenkott said. "People followed directions well, and we were really happy,”
Uhlenkott says the only thing he would change is to make sure it doesn’t get too crowded before entering next service.
St. Marks is continuing to stream its mass online for those who were not able to go in person.
